This October, 68 incredible people will strap on their harnesses and step out — or rather down of their comfort zones to abseil 220 metres down Perth’s tallest building as part of the Central Park Plunge 2025.
Earlier this year, the Foundation set itself the ambitious goal of filling 60 harnesses for the Plunge. We are delighted to share that not only was this target reached, but exceeded, with 68 participants now committed to taking the leap on 24 and 25 October.
A Special Announcement: The Mark Fear Research Fellowship
This year, the Central Park Plunge is dedicated to the memory of our colleague and friend, Dr Mark Fear, who we tragically lost earlier in 2025.
For almost two decades, Mark guided the Foundation’s research programs, ensuring they remained grounded in purpose: improving the lives of patients and their families, and nurturing the next generation of researchers and clinicians. He was also a constant presence at events like the Plunge. While he never abseiled himself, he was always there to volunteer, encourage, and support his students in taking on the challenge.
This year, our FWF researcher Natalie and our students Muhammad, Beatriz, Carol, Treesa and Felicia will take on the Plunge in his memory. If you would like to support these amazing peoples fundraising efforts please follow the links below:

In recognition of his extraordinary contribution, funds raised through the 2025 Central Park Plunge will establish the Mark Fear Research Fellowship. This fellowship will continue the work he began, support emerging researchers as he did, and drive new discoveries in the pursuit of scarless healing.
The PLUNGE is always a highlight on our calendar, and we look forward to coming together with our community for another impactful and memorable year.
